Shawdesh Desk: Former Jamalpur DC Ahmed Kabir has been temporarily suspended over the leakage of a surveillance camera footage showing him in a compromising position with a female office assistant.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Monir Uddin confirmed this to media on Friday.
He said, “The ministry issued a temporal suspension letter against Ahmed Kabir under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018 on Wednesday.”
“Ahmed Kabir was suspended as per the probe report, submitted by the cabinet division. The process of taking departmental action against the former Jamalpur DC has begun through the step. Further action will be taken against him,” the Additional Secretary added.
On august 25, Ahmed Kabir was made an officer on special duty (OSD) following the leakage of the surveillance camera footage.
A five-member probe body, headed by Joint Secretary Mushfiqur Rahman of the cabinet division, was also formed to investigate the video scandal of Ahmed Kabir.
The probe body submitted its findings to the ministry on September 22.
Earlier, a 5-minute video, which is footage of a CCTV camera, went viral a month ago, where former Jamalpur DC Ahmed Kabir and his office assistant Sanjidia Yasmin Sadhona were seen in a compromising situation in the private rest room of the DC.
